Love Is Dead is a promotional single from Kerli's debut album, Love Is Dead. It is the first track on the album. The song appeared on the show The L Word, on the episode Last Word.

Composition[]

Kerli claims she wrote the song after she liked a boy and was rejected by him because her feelings weren't reciprocated.[1] She also said that later she understood the song could have more meanings and interpretations and that she had grown fond of it over time.

Release[]

The song was released in December 2007 to promote Kerli's debut album, Love Is Dead. The first official single of the album was Walking on Air.

Music video[]

Kerli sings face to face with the camera; The background is very dark and depressing and Kerli is very elderly. As the video progresses, Kerli grows younger and the background gets more colorful and cheerful. Throughout the video, crows are seen flying in the background and transition into butterflies towards the end of the video. A gigantic butterfly flies onto the back of Kerli and it appears as if she has wings. The background makes it appear as if she is now flying as she screams the end of the song.

Lyrics[]

This is the hardest part
When you feel like you're fading
All that you have has become unreal
Collapsing and aching

All I want, all I want was right here
But love don't live here anymore
(Love is dead, love is gone, love don't live here anymore)
Love don't live here anymore
(Love is dead, love is gone, love don't live here anymore)

I know that you think of me when you're
Beside her, inside her
It must be so hard for you to
Deny it and hide it

Oh, all I want
All I want was right here
But love don't live here anymore
(Love is dead, love is gone, love don't live here anymore)
And love don't live here anymore
(Love is dead, love is gone, love don't live here anymore)

Love is dead, love is gone, love don't live here anymore

But love don't live here anymore
(Love is dead, love is gone, love don't live here anymore)

And love don't live here anymore
(Love is dead, love is gone, love don't live here anymore)
Anymore
