Supergirl is an unreleased song performed by Kerli. It was supposed to be included on her second studio album, but, once this leaked, Supergirl was scrapped from the EP Utopia, that includes any way some leaked songs. Kerli performed it live at Cambio and at the SXSW 2011.

Meaning

In the beginning of the performance, Kerli stated:

This one's out to all the girls that have been told that they can't be the most and be the most amazing thing in the world.

In an interview Kerli also stated:

When i made my last album, it was a very introverted album. In this new album i've just been putting myself into other people's bodies and trying to see their perspective and just going out into the world and like, seeing what people are feeling and thinking and trying to take from that, you know? And then go to my house and just, transmute what i was feeling. And actually SuperGirl is, i put myself in my mother's body and said things that i wish she would of said to my dad when i was little. I know it sounds a little complicated but, uh, Supergirl is actually about Domestic Abuse; that's something that i kinda wanted to touch on. I want to send a message to girls that, it's okay to thank that you deserve only the best, you know? And act on it. So, but also learn from the, from the negitave experiances and, you know, not beat yourself up over what's happened but like have a possitive self image and like just belive that you deserve the best.
